Altova FlowForce Server
Altova FlowForce Server enables organizations to deploy and automate solutions created with Altova StyleVision and Altova MapForce on the server side. This allows data to be transformed between different formats and structures or rendered into various output formats in a controlled, scalable environment.
As a long-standing Altova partner, we provide end-to-end solutions for projects involving Altova products. Our services include:
- Server-side execution of Altova MapForce transformations and mappings
- Server-side execution of Altova StyleVision designs
Altova Product Family

Leverage the full Altova ecosystem with us:
- Altova StyleVision – to design reports and business documents (e.g., customer correspondence) graphically and generate them with complex logic
- Altova StyleVision Server – to execute StyleVision templates server-side and generate documents in bulk
- Altova MapForce – to design graphical transformations across multiple data sources
- Altova MapForce Server – to deploy mappings and transformations server-side and execute them automatically, time-based, or event-driven
- Altova FlowForce Server – to orchestrate and automate all Altova server products centrally
Altova FlowForce Server

Use Altova FlowForce Server if you want to:
- Automatically transform data via MapForce Server
- Automatically generate reports, documents, or e-forms
- Execute jobs based on time, file, or remote triggers
- Implement workflow logic with loops, conditions, result evaluation, and error handling
- Reuse cached job results
- Obtain detailed execution logs
- Manage role-based access control for mappings and transformations
- Use a web interface to manage all server activities
Capabilities

By combining MapForce Server mappings, StyleVision Server reporting, and predefined file system operations, FlowForce enables automated solutions for transforming and reporting on XML, XBRL, database, flat file, EDI, Excel, and web service data.
FlowForce supports multiple trigger types for launching processes: Time triggers for one-time or recurring execution; File triggers to start jobs when files are created or modified in defined “hot folders”; Remote triggers initiated via HTTP calls.
With its built-in security model, multiple departments can share a single FlowForce Server instance without interfering with one another. A browser-based web interface allows centralized or remote administration and monitoring.
FlowForce Server can be configured to operate with or without RaptorXML Server, MapForce Server, or StyleVision Server. The integration of Altova server products simplifies interface design and automated output generation. Tasks can be triggered by schedules, new input data, or HTTP commands, enabling efficient execution of complex data integration workflows.
Altova Server Products
Altova offers several server products that can be used individually or in combination with FlowForce Server.

RaptorXML Server
RaptorXML Server and RaptorXML+XBRL Server can be integrated into FlowForce workflows to validate XML files, XBRL instance documents and taxonomies, and execute XQuery and XSLT operations.
Altova FlowForce Server
A workflow automation tool for XML/XBRL processing, data mappings, and transformations. It supports scalable workflow management on high-performance servers, virtual machines (on-prem or cloud), or even standard workstations.
MapForce Server
Based on the MapForce transformation engine, MapForce Server executes transformations defined in MapForce mappings. It supports combinations of XML, databases, EDI, XBRL, flat files, Excel, JSON, and web services. Controlled by FlowForce Server, these mappings become structured workflow steps.
StyleVision Server
Based on the StyleVision report generation engine, StyleVision Server renders XML and/or XBRL data into HTML, RTF, PDF, or Microsoft Word formats using StyleVision stylesheets. When deployed through FlowForce, report generation becomes part of a fully automated workflow.
